Hotel Near BKK (old) Airport for 10 hour Layover

Hi again,

We are arriving in BKK (the old airport) at 12:30 a.m. from the US and are leaving BKK for Chaing Mai at 12:00 p.m. the same day. We looking for a hotel close to the airport to get some sleep. We don't want to spend a lot of money because we really just want to catch a few hours sleep before heading north. Any suggestions???

Thanks,
Jen

BTW: We have already booked tour guides and hotels (Except in Phuket because we can't make a decision) with the help of everyone on here! Thanks so much for everything so far!

I've used the Rama Gardens. The Executive rooms there are huge and quite nice for about US$75, I believe, including breakfast and the shuttle. There are cheaper places as well. Take a look a www.sawasdee.com as I belive they have a search function for places close to the airport.

Asia Airport hotel has free shuttle to/from terminals, good value, USD 38-45 range, you can get discounts on food and laudnry too on their promotion but for just 10 hrs that might not be of interest:

I checked this out a while back for similar reasons and the best choice to me was Comfort Inn. It's close to the airport, they provide a shuttle service, their rates were very reasonable, they have a pool, restaurant, everything you need. Do a Google and check them out.

For under $50 There is the Asia Airport and right opposite the airport the Erawan Place (a suite hotel). The Asia is fine but I like the Erawan better. http://www.asiatravel.com/thailand/erawan/index.html

From $50 to 65 there are the Quality Suites (the closest), Rama Garderns and Miracle Grand. In my opinion the MG is the best by far.

The above rates are net with breakfast with free transportation
