I second the recommendation. We also stayed at the Melia Bali, which was nice. The grounds were lovely, the food was good, and the service was great. I thought the rooms were just so-so (although we did appreciate the balcony), but good for what we paid. (I can't remember what we paid, but it wasn't 5 star prices, so the room was fine for the price). The breakfast room is also very nice since part of it is outside in the wonderful garden area.

The only caution I have about Nusa Dua is that it is not "real" Bali - it was created in the 70's (?) by the government. If you're looking for authentic Balinese culture, try one of the other beaches or the outskirts of Ubud (which is overrun with tourists, but the scenery is amazing). We, on the other hand, live in China and were just looking for a very quiet, relaxing place - which Nusa Dua provided very well.

One highlight of our trip was a kayak float down the river. My husband piloted his own (no experience necessary), and I had a guide pilot mine (which I highly recommend - no paddling!). It was absolutely wonderful - breathtaking scenery, and most of the time we were the only people on the river. Much better (in my opinion) than joining a rafting group where you're in a raft with 10 people and in a chain of 10 rafts.

Have a great time!
