Hyatt in HH ... A bit out of town, but no need to leave. Food is good and not outrageous. You use to be able to walk the beach to other eateries

Say "hi" to the doorman and front desk crew from Madam Simpson! I just left the Adelphi on January 7th! What used to be the Marriott Hua Hin (it has recently changed) was in a good location. The resort itself is a little 'tired' but maybe with new owners that will be corrected and updated. I think it is now an Anantara.

You might like Poppie's on Koh Samui. Good location for walking Chaweng Beach road, where you will find plenty of eating and shopping for souvenirs. Next to Poppie's is a place called Seascape. It's cheaper, more basic, and has a nice beach. It is owned by a friend. I usually stay here.

Also, a place called Crystal Bay Resort (no pool) is on a mostly private stretch of beach just beyond Chaweng. You would want a car or motorbike for getting around, as taxis and tuk tuks (tsongtau trucks) are not so cheap on Samui. The beach at Crystal Bay is really nice!! The little restaurant at the resort has great food.

I second the Hyatt Regency in HH. We loved it and are considering going back later this year!

i love the hyatt.. there is a new incontinental as well.. lots of places to stay at all price levels..

on samui we stayed at the peace resort... low key and reasonable.. many like the renaissance..

if you are going to HH why are you spending the $$ to fly to samui??
