Hotel in Hanoi

Hi, all. A friend had recommended the Guoman Hotel in Hanoi and I have heard back that there is construction going on nearby and some people can't sleep because of it. My husband David and I live in Manhattan, so first, I'm wondering how bad it really will be. But if someone has a recommendation for another place to stay $60-80 per night, preferably in the old part of the city, I'd appreciate it. Also, because of you Fodorites, we are excited about our trip to Ha Long Bay, where we're spending a night with Buffalo Tours on a junk. It comes in the middle of our stay in Hanoi so, we need a place that will store our baggage for a night. Any suggestions, please? Sharon

You hotel in Hanoi will gladly store your luggage while you are away at Halong Bay.

I recommend the DeSlyoia Hotel in Hanoi. It's not in the middle of old town, but the location is good.

Another recommendation for the De Slyoia Hotel. It is within walking distance of the Old part of Hanoi. Nice small restaurant in the hotel. I was alone and the people in the hotel definitely looked out for me.

PS I booked at www.asiahotels.com and got a breat rate, including breakfast, tax and service.

When I got to the hotel, they upgraded us to a huge suite...
