Hotel in Bangkok
Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in the shopping mall area of Bangkok. I am looking for a place in the $40-50 range. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Austine, My travel agent put my niece into a small hotel called the PJ Watergate that was right by the World Trade Center and Siam Center malls. She said it was clean and very comfortable and just $30 USD a night including breakfast. Let me know if you'd like the agent's details for booking!

Hi
My wife and I stayed at Rembrandt Hotel on Sukhumwit Soi 18 and we were pleased with the hotel. It is located near Asok skytrain station so it was pretty easy to get around. I have posted some more info in a trip report with some pictures on my homepage http://gardkarlsen.com. Maybe you can find some useful information there. Regards Gard Stavanger, Norway |
Thanks for the info.

the shopping mall area is in siam and phloenchit district.. but the bts sytem easally conncts the center city too the "mall area" in minuts.. SO your options are HUGE and maybe you need too be more spacific on your needs.... or do you spacificaly want too be walking distance of the malls.

Thanks for the info. I would prefer to be in a hotel that is walking distance to the malls. Isn't there a hotel that is attached to one of the malls?

The Pathumwan Princess is connected to the MBK mall but the price is higher than the $40-50 range. The Sofitel is in Siam Square and near the Discovery Center but then again the price is higher then what you're looking for.

Forgot about the Emporium Suite that is right on top of the Emporium Mall. I think they might have nightly rate but I'm sure that the price will be high.

ARNOMA HOTEL fits the bill it's across the street from World trade plaza and serounded by malls. it has a swimming pool and all..
you could read custumor comments on this site but they charge $60 http://www.asiahotels.com/hotelinfo/Arnoma/ www.asiatravel.com charges $2400++ for and executive level room plus a bunch of extra stuff. . choose what ya want.. I hate touting but oddly enough everytime someone asks for a cheep place near the malls i pitch this place but no one seems too bite. maybe it's for the best I never stayed |
Hi,
I can't decide between staying at the JW Marriott (Sukhumvit) and The Pathumwan Princess. 2 very hard choices, in my opinion. I am tempted to choose the Pathumwan Princess based on the fact that it is also located near the shopping areas. But how is the location of JW Marriott Sukhumwit? HELP..... |
what your budget?
if you want something similar too JW but within spitting distance too malls then the INter continetal and Grand Hyatte are good choices... for something a litle cheaper there is a NOVATEL in the area. The RITZ CARLTON is good for the BIG DOGS |
Orgy, I don't think that there's a Ritz Carlton in Bangkok.

Chateau de Bangkok by Sofitel an Accor hotel. Just walk the 400 meters to the Ploenchit skytrain station and go one stop to the Chitlom station or two stops to the Siam station and you will be in the heart of the shopping. I stayed there for one night in August, to try it out, and paid 1500Baht, I believe it was, for a Jr. Suite with a kitchen. And there's a pool on the roof and a laundry room where you can do your own laundry. Happy Travels!

Orgy 7- I think you meant the Four Seasons...my number one hotel. Take care. Happy Travels!
