Hotel for USD100

Hi,

First timer in Singapore for 4 days. Do you have recommendations for hotels for ~USD100 with a good location, clean and safe. We will be travelling first week of December.

Thanks!

Singapore is perhaps the safest city in the world. Any hotel in the US $100 range will be clean. Take a look at Singapore hotels on this site: www.agoda.com The prices typically include tax and servcie charges, but do read all the fine print. I've used this booking service a number of times and they have great service. When you see hotels that interest you, you can come back and ask about them or the area of town that they are in. For me, being near an MRT stop is important, as I use it to get all over the city.

What's the Metropol going for these days? Stayed there about 6 years ago and it was clean and excellent location.

Besides Orchard street, is there any other area that I should look into? Location is important..but a nice non-touristy area would do too because Singapore is small. Obviously it needs to be close to the MRT stop.

actually...I won't be shopping at all. So probably Orchard street would not be a good choice for me. What other area should I look into? Thanks.

Orchard Road is mostly shopping, but it's close (via MRT) to lots of things. I used to stay at the Grand Hyatt which is just off Orchard Road even though I wasn't there for shopping and found it quite convenient. My favorite place has been in the Raffles City complex (what is now the Fairmont), though the prices are higher than your budget.

Really, any place close to the MRT will be fine, location -wise as the things your are likely to want to do will be spread out all over the city.

Nofly, When I search for the Metropol in Singapore, nothing comes up. There is a Metropol (or Metropole) in HCMC, Istanbul, Moscow, etc, but none in SIngapore... perhaps it has a new name?

The Metropole in Singapore is now a posh boutique hotel called Niamu (or something like that). Goes for more than $100 a night but looks fabulous. It's across the side-street from Raffles. Excellent location.

The only place that comes to mind around $100 a night is the Ibis.
