Hotel "deals" in BKK

In view of all the cancellations that must be happening I'm wondering if anyone is finding extra special hotel pricing (better than AsiaRooms etc) would they post here please? Also, do you think if one was to call the hotel directly or email for a deal that it would be better than going through a site? I've always wanted to stay at the Pen - maybe this is the time?

I still have 5 nights to find in BKK for the end of Jan - Still thinking positively that this will be resolved.

i would call around a bit and ask...i would start with the penn, then shangri-la, even priceline might work....some of the serviced apartments too....but primarily the hotels....worth a few bucks to see...

I had a recent stopover in BKK and stayed at the Twin Towers. It was very reasonably priced, a great room and a very, very nice hotel. It would be my first choice if I was going again.

The place with the most promotions going on is The Pullman.

Looks like a nice place. I've only eaten there.

The Pen are currently offering us 8200+ taxes on a deluxe room per night for our stay in Feb. Not sure how good a deal this is for high season??

We paid 29000 inc tax for 3 nights in August 06 - booked through Amex Centurion Travel - not sure what room we booked originally but we got upgraded to a grande deluxe suite on a high floor. It is a lovely hotel.

We too are hoping for a positive resolution and calm by that point. We are travelling with a 4 year old and a 9 month old baby - I can't take any risks but don't think we would get our flight money back.

Pullman? nah. Maybe you're thinking Centara Grand at Central World. If there's a deal to be found, you'll find it there.
