Hong Kong - toss up between Accomodations!
Just debating on which place i should book my stay which will consist of 4 nights. Ive narrowed it down to a few places. Im looking for an ideal location as well as a place in which i can meet other travellers as I will be solo. I have narrowed down my list to the following places:
i. Anne Black YWCA ii. Booth Lodge iii.Mirador Hostel in Kowloon iv. New Garden Hostel in Kowloon Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, or any place not listed above thats good, please let me know! Thanks a million |
I've stayed at Anne Black many times, but not the others. It's a great value, but not the most convenient.
The Booth Lodge will be my choice from what you're telling me. |
thank you. I sent them an email this afternoon for my booking. Too bad they dont do it online. Tried callin but couldnt understand what the man was saying

I stayed at Booth Lodge in December 2006. The location is very convenient. Plus, free Internet access, if you bring your own laptop. Take bus #33 from the airport to the lodge. The front desk clerk working in the afternoon speaks better English, so try call at this time.
Notes: - give them your credit card # if you want guarantee the 1st night. - pay when you arrive. - would suggest you give them your room key when you go out so that you won't lose it. - there is a laundry mat the corner. wash & fold your clothes cheaply - Caritas Bianchi Lodge is next to Booth Lodge and the quality of the room is the same too. |
We just stayed at the Shangra-la, Kooloon, and it is truly a 5 star hotel. Good location, service, accommadations, food, service, etc. Would highly reccommend.

Only direct bus from Airport to the Bianchi or Booth lodges is the Cityflyer A21. (HK$33)
MSheinberg - The Shangri-La costs 6-10 times the choices that the OP is considering. |
thanks rrkwan for the correction. i was too focus on the $33--so inexpensive.

j_4tay - See, you and I think the Cityflyer "A" buses are inexpensive. But my parents don't think so. They usually take the "E" buses that gives you a tour of Cathay City and the rest of Chek Lap Kok, and adds 20 minutes to the trip.
But, they're just over half the fare, and seniors 60+ gets another 1/2 off. For them, riding the E23 from airport to Jordan cost HK$9; the return trip cost HK$7. ;) |
