Hong Kong to Guangzhou ?is there a ferry
We are travelling to Guangzhou from Hong Kong, apart from the Train from Kowloon is there any other method that is easy and quick, I know there are buses but do they necessitate getting on/off at border crossing? can you recommend and any ideas of cost?
Thank you

Stick with the train out of Kowloon. It doesn't get much easier than that.

Agree. Train is the easiest and fastest. HK$190 each way.

There are ferries to areas outside Guangzhou but not to city center. Buses require getting off once (if they use the new Shenzhen Bay crossing), or twice (if they use the older Huanggang). Various companies, about HK$100.

Only way that's easier than the train is by private car (prices vary, but perhaps HK$1,200/car). Makes sense if there are several of you going together.

Just to make the information complete, the ferry that gets closest to Guangzhou is the one to the Nansha Port. This is the only schedule in English I can find, but the actual time may not be 100% accurate or up-to-date:

Hong Kong to Nansha is HK$152, and Nansha to Hong Kong is HK$135.

They have free shuttle bus to the Jinzhou subway stop, which is at the end of the #4 line on the Guangzhou subway system. It requires a change to #2 line to get to central Guangzhou, so even though the ferry is fast and comfortable, it's still a while before you can get into city center.

Thanks for the information. That settles it definitely the train then, direct and no changing/getting off, so no getting lost. Much appreciate the help. Pauline.
