Hong Kong PLUS with kids!
 

Going to Hong Kong in December 2001 with 4 sons ages 11-16. Wnat to shop, and see it all (ha ha). Really, what is a "must see"? Ideas for side trips too? This will be a 11-15 day trip, based on your recommendations...HELP!

First of all, welcome to Hong Kong. <BR>Christmas is a good time to visit, especially if you want shopping during the Christmas Sales. There is a lot of shopping mall with different boutiques & shops around Hong Kong. I can't give you the detail without knowing your preferences/target. <BR> <BR>Regarding "must see", you can search over this forum with "Hong Kong" and there are serveral posts before with detail suggestions. <BR> <BR>For side trips, you can go to Guangdong or Shenzhen in China or Macau. It can be a day trip or stay overnight. YOu need to get a visa to China (depending where you come from) either in home country or in Hong Kong. A must see for your family is the view of Victoria Harbour from the top of the mountain. Take the tram up. The kids will love it! There's even a trail all the way around the top for different views. <BR> <BR>I also agree to take the ferries to the outer islands. Great family trail on Lamma Island. Nice beach to swim at after the hike.

Your sons would probably love a day at Ocean Park, which is a nice amusement park in a spectacular setting. They may also enjoy taking a small junk around the Aberdeen Harbor. You'll be here at a great time of year!
