Hong Kong Jeweler - "The Showroom"

On the Fodor's website on HONG KONG and in their books, they recommend a place I know and trust - called THE SHOWROOM. The telephone number doesn't go through, and there is no alternate way of reaching the proprietor.

Does anyone have later information on THE SHOWROOM and how to contact them?

Below is the cut n paste from this website.

THE SHOWROOM
Central Bldg., Pedder St., Room 1203, 12th floor, Central, Hong Kong, China
Phone: 2525-7085
Jewelry
Central District

The Showroom specializes in creative pieces using various gems and diamonds.

When did you try call? It's Easter holiday in Hong Kong Fri-Sun.

I've dialed 011-852-2525-7085. The recording states the number is no longer in service - or disconnected. Any thoughts?

I have not heard of this jeweller. I tried to look it up on the HK yellowpages website but had no luck finding it. After you get to HK, you can dial 1081 from any land phone for free telephone directory assistance in English. 1083 for service in Chinese. Maybe they can help you.

Online directory for Hong Kong's phone service is here:

"The Showroom" didn't return any match. I don't know about this jeweller, but I've seen some travel sites with its listing. Maybe it has indeed shut its doors.

i think places in the peddler building come and go from time to time...its a nice little building so is well worth your visit in any case...good buys there..

Thanks everyone. Many travel books recommend "The Showroom" and I've spent $$$ there over the years (shop has been around for over 15 years I know of).

Sadly, every book has a last page & back cover. And it might be good news, strictly retirement after working hard for many years.

in the case, any recommendations for a jeweler locals frequent? One that I've heard of is Gemsland?

Check out Tayma in the same area at lan Kwai Fong - www.taymajewelry.com - bit pricey but very exclsuive designs.

Thanks for the recommendation.
I'll give it a try.
