Hong Kong in only 8 hours?!
Hello all, we will be to Hong Kong in a couple days - from 8:30 in the morning to around 16:00 in the afternoon. We do want to see waterfront / temple street / the peak / midlevel escalator / temple street / star ferry / stanley and would like to give a try to pineapple buns / dim sum and some other typical food ...
I know - sounds challenging. The more I would appreciate to benefit from crowd knowledge in terms of how to link the activities, which publich transport (bus / tram / MTR / ...) to use from where to where ... Would be so helpful if someone with experience could help me 'slicing the elephant'. Thx in advance!! Axel |
Where will you be starting out?
I was in Hong Kong about three weeks ago with my son and we waited a long time for the Peak Tram (even people with advance tickets had a long wait). Since you won't be there for sunset/evening views anyway I would try to do that as early as possible, assuming the weather is good enough. We didn't have time to check out the escalator (we got there in mid-afternoon for a very short stay, so we just did the Peak the first day and then went to dinner, and took the ferry over to Kowloon the second day and spent most of the day walking around on that side). Once you come back down on either the tram or the escalator it's a relatively easy walk to where the Star Ferry leaves (next to the Hong Kong Observation Wheel). So maybe tram, escalator, then ferry, and find some dim sum around Temple Street? |
Thx Barbara, your feedback gives me the confidence to 'just try it' ... w/o being too anxious to miss something. I have been provided the link to emobility app by HK toursim board ... should facilitate getting around with bus and MTR.
