Hong Kong Hotels

We are a couple from California traveling to Hong Kong on Oct 30, 2002 after 15 days in Bali. We have two nights at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong on Nov 3 & 4th but need a good hotel that is reasonable for the 4 days prior. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also any medium priced suggestions in Bali would be terrific.

I do not know what kind of price range hotel you are looking for. You may visit asiatravel.com, there are quite a lot of choices. Conrad is just next to Island Shangri-La and Marriott, also expensive. Wesley is just 5 minutes taxi from Conrad, a small and quite centrally located hotel. You may email me direct if you need any further information on any specific hotel.

Sherry, I booked the Eaton Hotel for about the same time period (Nov 2-5)for $97US + 13% tax for a Club Superior room through www.asiahotels.com. That website has customer reviews and that hotel looked like a good value for the money. It's a little way from the harbor on the Kowloon side but it looked like it was close to public transport and a couple of the markets.

I also booked one of my nights through www.priceline.com.hk. I got the Sheraton for 650HK (about $83US) + taxes on Nov 9 but was unable to duplicate that price for the earlier period. If you go to www.biddingfortravel.com and select Priceline Asia from the dropdown list at the bottom there is a little information on successful bids.

Thank you Lita and Kris for your reply. I will look into the Eaton,Wesley, and Priceline.

I have stayed at the Park Hotel on Kowloon 4-5 times. Great hotel; great location (10 min. walk to Star Ferry), great buffet breakfast, nice rooms, good prices. Not that great to look at from the outside, but wonderful on the interior.

what do you mean by medium priced in Bali a $15 hotel is considered medium priced. I stayed in a place in kuta, which had two nice pools and a "basic" room, no TV for that price..
