Hong Kong Hotels

Hello,
My fiancee and I are thinking about going to Hong Kong in April for one week. We would like to stay in the Tsim Sha Tsui section of the city. Any advice regarding a 'three star' hotel in that area? Is it adequate for average travellers? Any hotels you can recommend? Thanks in advance

try to get a good price at the "Great Eagle Hotel" this is a 4 star hotel but offers very good prices. Located close to Star Ferry, Nathan Road within the main shopping area in TST. Alternatively the newly renovated "New World Hotel"

TST is definitely in the heart of HKG. If you emphasizing the shopping part of your visit to HKG, you may want to consider staying in Wan Chai at the Wesley for about USD 100 nitely off peak. Many of our company visitors stay at this smaller 4 star hotel. It is one block away from the awesome Pacific Place shopping complex and Admiralty MTR subway station. Another choice is the Regal Hong Kong in Causeway Bay. Close to the Times Square shopping district. Slightly larger rooms.

Good luck.
RTK

I went to hong kong last week with my wife and we stayed at the miramar hotel which is right on nathan road. The hotel was great and the location was the "best". Have a great trip. I think that kawloon is a better place to stay than hong kong island

I would recommend staying at the Regent Hotel on the Kowloon side. It's situated right on the harbour front and has stunning views. It is convenient for both shopping and eating as well as being within walking distance from the star ferry which will take you over Central.

On recommendation from a friend who travels often to Hong Kong, I stayed at the YMCA last fall. While nothing fancy, it's clean, friendly staff and can't be beat for price and location. It's located directly next to the Pennisula Hotel and within short walking distance to the Star Ferry.

Stayed at the New World Renaissance booked through a Northwest Airlines package and was pleased - good location, clean, etc. I don't know what the actual rating is; it wasn't grand like the Hyatt where I stayed on business - but for my personal trip it was great. Try to go to the bird market if you go there - loved it and wandering around that area!

Kathy: Kenneth is looking for a three star hotel. Mabe the luxurious "Regent" will not go with his budget. But as I mentioned in a different post, it's lobby is great for a drink and to see the sun go down. Last year, I stayed at the "Great Eagle" and was happy with it.
