Hong Kong hotel with good pool / spa?
Hello,
I'm looking for a hotel in HK that has a good swimming pool and spa facility (steam room, sauna, jacuzzi--multiple temperatures) that are included as part of the rate. Looking for sometihng under $300 USD a night, convenient location.
DH really loves the spa facilities in good hotels in Asia, like onsen in hotels in Japan or ijimjilbang in Korea.
Not as important, but is there one with an excellent breakfast buffet, hopefully included in the price as well? Otherwise, we don't mind exploring eateriest and restaurants outside.
Thank you!

Hi,
Just came back from Hong Kong a couple of weeks ago and I stop by, didn't stay there, the Icon hotel in Hong Kong which was nice. I noticed that the spa is an "Angsana spa" which is well known in Thialand for good treatments. Check out their web site and see if the pool is to your liking and the price should be around $300 a night.
The only thing I didn't like was the location but the spa should be good!

Thanks, Hanuman, for the Icon hotel recommendation. Does it have a steam room, sauna, multiple hot tubs that are included in the price of the room? Just to clarify that my DH doesn't care for massage and private spa treatments. He just likes to use the pool and the above mentioned facilities.
I also checked the Intercontinental, but their website indicates there are no spa facilities like the above for hotel guests. You have to pay extra for only 30 minutes of use. That sounds so lame.
Any other hotels that anyone know of?
Thanks!

To clarify about the IC: Their spa facility has a series of private rooms for the various treatments (massage, etc.) All/most of the rooms also include a sauna and a jacuzzi; after your massage is over, you may stay in the room and enjoy the jacuzzi/sauna for an additional 30 minutes if you pay a (modest) fee. I can say from personal experience that the IC spa and their treatment rooms are exceptionally good. Unfortunately for the OP, the facilities aren't what she's looking for, and I'm not familiar with any other place in HK that does. (If she heads to Bangkok, the Grand Hyatt redid their pool & spa a few years ago and is likely what she's after.)

This is Hong Kong in 2013. You do not want anything that's "included" in the rate, because anything that's "free" will be packed with, and abused by, visitors from the-country-whose-name-we-dare-not-say. And I will say even at the top hotels.
Same thing with buffet. If you want good service and quality, you want everything a la carte.

Back from the trip. We stayed at the IC Grand Stanford for 3 nights. Booked harbor room, premier level (renovated rooms), breakfast included for $270 USD a night.
* Location: About 10 minutes walk to Avenue of the Stars. IC HK is definitely better. Or Sheraton at the same rate.
* Room: Direct harbor view was nice, but can't see the iconic buildings in Central (IM Pei's, etc.). DH got in earlier than me to check in and they offered him an upgrade to a suite with a partial harbor view. He said the suite was big with nice bathroom, but he thought I might prefer a full harbor view so he declined the suite.
* Breakfast: Very good. Lots of choices:
* Dim sum--blah to bad.
* Interesting they have Indian dishes--quite good, different every day.
* Good salad with lots of good toppings (also for cereal)--whole pistachios, flax seeds, pumkin seeds, etc.
* Freshly baked pastries. Favorite was a fresh from the oven bun with vanilla creme. Still hot.
But in HK, probably can forgo breakfast at hotel and eat outside. So many good restaurants.
* Pool / Gym: Bad. Pool was cold. On rooftop, no view. Gym was small. No sauna and other facilities.
