Hong Kong hotel - near Airport Express station in Kowloon or Central
I know that Airport Express offers bus shuttle services from many hotels to their bases in Kowloon and Central. However, what I am wondering is if there are any hotels right next to either station.
Anyone know what hotels are right next to those Airport Express stations? Thanks!

Why not just take the train from the airport. It stops in Kowloon and from there, take the free shuttle to you hotel. The station isn't near any hotels that I remember, but I know it goes directly up to the door of the Hyatt in Kowloon. It's a no brainer to take the train....just a few steps from custons in the airport.

Nope, there isn't any hotels adjacent to any of the Airport Express stations.
The closest hotel that's within walking distance is the Mandarin Oriental in Central. You can use the underground walkway from the Hong Kong station to the Central MTR, and then get out right in front of the Mandarin Oriental, without having to cross any roadways. But it's a 10-minute walk.

I agree with bobbiergs....the system is so well organised! You come out of luggage collection and get the very efficient train on the same level and the free shuttle bus is waiting there to take you straight to your hotel. There are staff who show you which bus to get for which hotel. The train is cheap and when you are coming back you can check your luggage in at the train station and it will be transferred to your flight for you enabling you to travel to the airport comfortably and without carting your bags.

Well, if you can take your luggage on the train in Hong Kong, I guess you can take it on the train back to the airport. We flew a one stop on United, we were able to check luggage before boarding the train. That was a pleasant surprise, but not a necessity.

For information about the shuttle buses as well as in-town check-in, please read this webpage:
http://www.mtr.com.hk/eng/train/ae_compli_e.htm
They also have fares and schedule information on that website.
The AE line is built mostly on/under newly reclaimed land. There's a residential/shopping complex on top of the Kowloon station, but the area around it is still undeveloped. The Hong Kong station is underneath the International Finance Center office complex, but there are no hotels there.

When are you traveling? The Four Seasons Hotel is opening in Hong Kong sometime in 2005, and it will be adjacent to the AE station.
I usually take a taxi from the station to wherever I am staying. Although the bus is free, I'll take the taxi for the comfort and convenience, and because it's inexpensive (no more than US$3-4 to the Conrad or Shangri-La in Central, or to the IC/Pen/Shangri-La in Kowloon).

most likely you are only a $8 taxi ride to the nearest location, so stay where you want. Remember, that sometimes it takes an hour just to exit a building the station and subways are in due to they are so big. take a taxi that drops you off right in front of the train station location. Stay in a place you enjoy. Easy to get in and out
