Hong Kong express started with some Embraer 190/170 twin-jet aircraft operating into China, they also started some direct flights to Chiang Mai and Phuket. They have added some 737-800's for those China routes and have started flights to Bangkok.
As far as I know it is only 4 times per week. I don't know they will do as it is already one the most competative routes 'anywhere', not only the Asian carriers but also the likes of Emirates and Gulf Air, plus even Kenya Airways and Ethiopian, add to that budget Air Asia into Macao the route really is so competative. So an airline having just 4 flights a week I am not sure they can do that well, especialy as Dragonair started operating daily flights a while ago put then pulled-off the route to concentate on other routes. Seems strange to do 4 a week on a route like Bangkok which has 'so many' flights and carriers already. Maybe rkkwan will tell us more. |
Yes just 4 flights per week, Mon, Wed, Thu, Sat. Started this week.

It does not seem timed for connections as departing HKG 0815 wouldn't allow them inbound connections, also using 737's compared with the wide body flights and mostly PTV standards of others. Emirates do good fares, evening flight down, afternoon flight up, daily 777, Kenya and Ethiopian amongst cheapest, Air asia via Macau an interesting alternative, or cheap deals on Cathay, Thai, China Airlines etc.

I agree with JamesA. HKG-BKK is the most competitive route in the world. Can't think of any other route with more airlines serving.
I never "get" Hong Kong Express. It's part of casino tycoon Stanley Ho's empire, but I don't know who their target audience is. Their HK-Macau helicopter service serves the VIPs, but a little airline like this out of HKG and not MFM? And now China's Hainan Airlines is a major shareholder. I think they've also painted their planes after Hainan's livery. I don't "get" Hainan either, which is trying to apply to fly from Beijing to Seattle. Strange operations. |
I would have thought with the lack of a budget carrier and the obvious need to tap into the huge tourist market that perhaps they could have operated low cost tourist flights to places like Langkawi and Penang, which are not served that well from HKG. They were operating the EMB-190 on the Phuket route which is not so ideal, the 737-800 would have served better on Phuket and I would have thought, apart from the China destinations places like Penang, Langkawi, Bali which are not well served from HKG at all really. Then use the EMB-190's to open up more like Siem Reap, Danang etc.
If Dragonair found it hard..... |
Any idea of a working website?

I am very interested in riding my bike to go for a travel with beautiful handbags. I like to collect pictures of new fashion bikes and handbags. In my spare time, I go to shopping with my elder sister and buy the new fashion bikes and handbags. recently, I have bought a Christain Dior bag from a online shop www.topbagzone.com, I like its design and the color is my favorite pink. The bag is suitable to carry when I ride my bike.I also found some other brands handbags. Maybe next time I will try to buy another brand handbags.
