Hong Kong - Concourse Hotel

Hello, We are going to Hong Kong for the month of May. What is the weather like at that time of year? We are staying at the Hotel Concourse in Kowloon. Has anyone stayed there and can you describe? Thanks!

The weather in May is warm, avg about 25-28 celcius. It is getting warm in some days but not as humid in the summer. <BR><BR>Hotel Concourse is near the &quot;Prince Edward&quot; MTR (underground) station. It is convenient to most populated tourist locations as TsimShaTsui or MongKok. It is centrally located. The hotel is not one of the best, but it will be a comfortable and reasonable stay. <BR><BR>Here's their website: http://www.hotelconcourse.com.hk/Index_eng.asp<BR>

Thanks sneesyam. Can you tell us what hotel the Concourse would compare? We have been to their web site, but cannot really tell much from it. Thanks!

In my opinion, the Concourse Hotel is not at all in a convenient location for tourists. The hotel is in Mongkok, which is a lively enough place, but not really one that is geared to Western tourists. <BR><BR>I would strongly recommend staying either in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) or in one of the northern areas of HK Island (Central, Admiralty, Causeway Bay). It's true that you can take the MTR (subway) from the Concourse to TST or HK Island, but one of the joys of Hong Kong is stepping outside your hotel door and being in the middle of where you want to be.

Mongkok is not tourist friendly. It got very crowded on Sunday. TsimShaTsui is better. I give the hotel a three star. You will survive....

Thanks all!

I hope you aware now that the Concourse Hotel is where the first case of SARS was found in HK. Try to reschedule your travel and DO NOT stay in this hotel. Good luck.

The infected individual, who brought the disease from mainland China, stayed at the Hotel Metropole, not the Concourse--not that that would be any reason not to stay at the Concourse even it it were true.<BR><BR>Peter N-H<BR>http://members.axion.net/~pnh/China.html
