Take the Airport Express to the Kowloon Station.
There are 5 free hotel shuttle busses at the station running different routes. I can't remember which bus number you will need, but each bus has all the hotels listed for the particular route the bus is running. This free bus service is provided by the Airport Express people.
The train will cost you 160HK$ for a R/T, but you may want to look into getting a rechargable MTR card. For 300HK$ you get the airport R/T and 3 days of unlimited subway/busses/ferry use, plus 20HK$ in credit to use for just about anything, including purchases at 7-11s and such. These are rechargable at minimum of 50HK$ if you are staying longer. Any money not used will be returned to you if you turn in the card at the airport when you depart. There is also a 50HK$ refundable deposit for the card.

Try to see if other people are buying Airport Express tickets - a group is defined as 2 or more. For 2 people the cost comes down to $75 per head and for 4 to $62/50 per head. These prices are only applicable if you buy from the counter and not the machine so try and tie up with someone who is about to purchase from the machine.

First, get local currency at an ATM as to get an octopus card and airport express tickets, you need cash. Sometimes they have special sales so ask about that. We got a deal because there were two of us (a group!) and we were buying round trip airport express tickets and the octopusses.
Take the Airport express to the Kowloon Station. Take the shuttle bus going to, among others, the Kowloon hotel, which is the closest stop to the YMCA. When you get off at the Kowloon hotel, which is right behind the Peninsula, turn right on the small street on which the Kowloon fronts, walk a half block to the intersection, cross the street and turn left (toward the harbor) and go half a block. and you will be at the side entrance to the YMCA. I've apparently misplaced my notes that tell the number of the shuttle bus to take, but the staff at the station was very helpful.
Enjoy your visit. We stayed at the YMCA and the location is ideal, and the rooms large and clean. They have a cafe on the first floor which is handy for breakfast, and a buffet on the fourth (I think) floor that had decent food at very good prices.
