Hong Kong 4 days
We have a 4 day layover in Hong Kong on the way to Sydney in early May. I'd love ideas on where to stay and best use of our time to see the most in 4 days. thanks

There are many posts about this in this forum. Do a search on "Hong Kong" and you'll find lots of info. Also go to the Hong Kong Tourism Board's website at www.discoverhongkong.com. Lots of good information there.
But to answer your questions shortly - 1) best to stay in Tsim Sha Tsui area in Kowloon; 2) if you have 4 full days, - one day on HK Island to The Peak, Repulse Bay, Stanley, and/or Aberdeen - one day to the Big Buddha and Tai O on Lantau Island - one day walking around town, go to the various markets, ride the HK Tramway, etc - 4th day depends on your interest. If you like older, traditional stuff, go to the New Territories and visit some walled villages, temples, and ancestral halls. Or just spend more time strolling the city and shopping. Or take a day trip to Macau. |
If there on a Wednesday night, then take your passport to the members' entrance of the HK Jockey Club track in Happy Valley. Get a guest membership and enjoy the races. |
Thanks for input so far. Does anyone have any recs for Hotels in a good area, good price? thanks
