If you're on a trip in Asia, are 2 days enough in Hong Kong? If yes, what are the 'must sees'?

Sure two days are fine although you could certainly do more. I would say about 5-7 days is ideal for HK. Anyway, in 2 days, do the follwoing -<BR><BR>Take the peak tram up to the peak, walk around, maybe dine at the Peak Lookout. Take the star ferry across the harbour to Tsim Tsa Tsui, pref. do this in the evening just before sun set, so you see the view once in the day-light and on the way back when its dark with the all lights. <BR>Take bus number 6 from exchange square to Stanley Market, sit upstairs on the right side and enjoy the great views, shop for nice souveniers at the Stanley Market. <BR>Walk around central and Lan Kwai Fong (pubs etc.) and then take the escalator up from central (longest in the world and has great small restaurants and bars all along, also good for people watching), go a few segments and stop along for a coffee or a drink and then take cab back. <BR>If you still have time, go to Pacific Place, HK's hippest mall. <BR><BR>I would do Causeway Bay, Ocean Park, the Big Buddha, beaches and outlying islands on a longer trip.<BR><BR>Have fun. HK is a very safe and efficient place.

aarti&gt; it depends on your budget and where u want to stay. i personally like the island shangri-la in admiralty. it's convenient, good transport connections and comfortable. for a reasonable 4-star hotel, try excelsior or rosedale in causeway bay.

Im looking for a luxury hotel with good location. (Nice waterfront view and near shopping area). Any suggestions?

The Island Shangrila and Mandarin are both very well located and you should ask for a room with a harbour view. Peninsula can't be beat when it comes to views, luxury and charm (its called the Grand Old Lady of HK), but the location is not that great, esp. if you are going for a short trip.

agree with the previous poster that the Peninsula is great. close to the tsimshatsui shopping areas too. personally though i prefer to be on hk island. i've already mentioned island shangri-la. you could also try the marriott or conrad (all in admiralty) -- great views, shopping right below, or the mandarin oriental or ritz-carlton in central.

I prefer Pennisula.<BR><BR>Mandarine and Island Shangrila is also great, but they are in commercial district. Tsimshatsui is the perfect place for shopping. You can have both luxury goods and also local favours.

I agree that Tsimshatsui is the best location for shopping, from designer malls to the nearby markets of Mongkok and it has the most spectacular views (of the island) from the waterfront hotels. It's really quick and easy to get over to the island by Star Ferry or MTR and if the Peninsula is a little too OTT for your taste or budget, the Kowloon Shangri-la, a couple of blocks along the waterfront, is an excellent alternative. I'd try and stay at least one more day though to see as much as possible, particularly if Hong Kong is your first stop in Asia, because you probably won't feel like too much running around straight after a long haul flight.
