I'll pick up the post tomorow and see whats on offer but thursday's post seems too offer the biggest travel section of the week.. are you interested in those free and easy air-hotel packeges many places offer.

I checked out "your inner european" thread and I ended up being "the italiano" I guess driving a farrari on the way too a wild club. and fisrt stopping at a Deny's for seafood and vegtable toped with pancakes seems too be what my people do.. or maybe having grown up in the litle italy of hartford. rubbed off.

carol, when you go and see ming, try the garlic shrimp. we thought it was great. and tell her i said hi. perhaps you might be able to find out where she will be cooking next.

I really thought my inner European would be Italian... oh well... it was fun anyway. My ascestors are mostly from Sweden, a place I've not visited yet. Must get there someday.

I too did some of the other tests to avoid a big shrink bill. I'm 10% weird. I'm also a martini and a cup of black coffee! Others will have to go to the site (blogthings.com) and do some tests. Son says his IQ is less than it used to be... it's all that good livin' in BKK! He's also 10% weird, and Spanish. DH is also Spanish. They both answered Ferrari so it can't be that one... and son also answered the wild night and seafood. Go figure...!

Back to the original question... I'm looking for flight/hotel specials for about 2-3 nights on Kata or Karon beach for about Sept 26-30 time frame. Let me know if you happen to see anything right now. We have a friend (tailor, travel agent, mini mart owner, etc.) who can get something arranged if we know what is available. I can get the BKK Post on line but I don't know if the travel specials are on the internet version. I appreciate any insight.

you also might look at www.thavorngroup.com.....we visited one of their hotels and it was very nice and had only 14% occupancy at that time....maybe will have some deals...

I really hope to locate on or very near Kata Beach. I like that area of the island, and I want to frequent Mom Tri's restaurants, whether I stay at the Boathouse or Villa Royale or not.

sorry too say but todays bangkok post had just about nothing on phuket I even tried reading some of the fares in thai.. in general the Post dosn't have much info on hotels just airfares. and 3 day/ 2 night free and easy tours.

I'll check out the thursday BKK POST for ya.

Thanks for checking things out for me. It's not urgent that I get something lined up now. I guess I was just curious, mostly, to know if there were any bargains out there, in an attempt to get tourists back to Phuket.
