Hoi An Hotel
Hello. I need some advice on hotels in Vietnam for a trip in a couple of weeks. We are considering the Palm Garden Resort and the Life Resort - have ruled out all the others. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

I only know about some of the others, so sorry I can't be of help.

You will find a number of them at www.vietnamstay.com which I used as a booking agency while travelling throughout Vietnam. www.hotels-in-vietnam.com is also a good site. I have heard good reports about the Hoi An Riverside Resort and the Lotus Hotel (oftenb fully booked). I stayed at the The Hoi An Hotel, which was comfortable, had a large pool, great breakfast and was within eaasy walking distance of the old part of Hoi An.

There is a new luxury hotel in Hoi An - the Nam Hai. Has anyone seen it? I am tentatively booked to stay there in February 07.

I just returned last night from 5 weeks in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand.
We stayed one night at the life Resort in a river view room. The resort was lovely, yet the noise of the boats all night on the river, along with paper thin walls. we heard everyones 5:00 am wake up calls. Also the lack of privacy the way the rooms are layed out convinced us to move to The Palm Garden We got a great discount on the Beachfront bunalow and it ended up being a highlight of our trip. The bunglow was was steps away from the beach and very beautifuly done in natural woods with an amazing partical outdoor bathroom. The grounds were beautiful and going to town was very easy. We were in great need of a place to relax after going at a fast pace with 5 nights in Laos and 4 in Hanoi and one in Halong bay. The other determining factor was it was so hot in Hoi An and having a slight breeze on the beach was a welcome relief. We spendt 3 very wonderful days at the Palm Garden and still managed to see the sites and hit the tailors. |
