You can buy the unisex Vietnamese raincoat-long plastic poncho with hood in the market. They come in different length and different thickness.
Enjoy the food. I had many good meals there.

Thanks Mohan and Marija! Our hotel has a coatrack loaded with the rain ponchos and umbrellas, plus I brought ponchos. Went out at 6 AM to walk around before breakfast and only had sprinkles. Everyone seems to take the mess in stride . Older large trees are supported now with several poles to keep them upright.

Made it to 4:30 PM with only one brief downpour! Stopped to have green tea then. Weather looks pretty good for the new moon lantern festival tonight.

Even today , we only had one brief downpour and were able to do all we wanted to do. Grateful. Were able to just sidestep the remnants from the flooding and winds . Locals take it in stride and just get to work cleaning up. Power went out tonight and waitresses just lit candles and kept taking orders. Not off for long, though. Didn't even have to wear ponchos today.
