HK Hotels - quick Q
 

Hi folks,

I need a hotel in the centre of the city (Kowloon), at a USD$100 price range. Someone has recommended Kowloon Hotel.

Any advice on this hotel or any other that fits the criteria?

Okay, okay. Upon further inspection of asiahotels.com, I am willing to expand the price range to USD$100-150. There are lots of choices (I prefer to stay in Kowloon); in fact, so many that I need your recommendations, people!

Salisbury YMCA, Kowloon Hotel are both reasonable options, both very well located.

I recently booked the New World Renaissance for, if I recall, $109.

Hotel prices in Hong Kong depend highly on the date. You may or may not get a great hotel for $100.

The Kowloon Hotel has very small rooms, and can often be got for ~$60 on Priceline (4* Tsimshatsui).

The price on asiahotels.com may be great, but availability may be a problem.

One thing I'd do first, if you're willing to spend $100, is to bid 5* Tsimshatsui on Priceline. Lots of successful bids for that price for the Sheraton.

i have stayed at kowloon...it is decent...very small rooms, great location...

also at salisbury Y, but i think their prices are higher...

i also have staye at new world renaissaance for a reasonable price...its a marriott hotel

I've stayed at both the Kowloon Hotel and Renaissance Hotel in the past month or so, and I think I prefer the Kowloon Hotel. Though the rooms are a little outdated, they're clean and well furnished (and the breakfast buffet that's usually included in most packages is quite nice.) The Renaissance's furnishings are much more plush--the shower there was first rate. I found that the service in the Kowloon Hotel to be much better than that of the Renaissance, and that it was a pain to always cross Salisbury Road to get to the MTR station from the Renaissance. The Kowloon Hotel is right in the middle of the hubbub of Tsimshatsui, and has an underground link to the MTR and KCR stations.
