HK First Week of Feb.
Hello,
I'll be in Hong Kong from January 31 to February 8. A few things I can't decide on:
1- Go to Macau for one night on the 3rd and leave the on 4th or go on the 4th and leave on the 5th, which is Lunar New Year. If there are daytime activities on the 5th in Macau that would be good but I'm worried about how busy the ferry will be to HK that day.
2-What is open and doable on the LNY (5th and 6th) other than the night celebrations?
3-Other than Lantau, what other islands do you recommend? (something with good views and mild hiking for a solo traveler)
4-Should I visit any of the islands (e.g. Lantau) on the 7th or will they be busy on the 3rd day of LNY?
Thank you!

My favorite island is Cheung Chau. I had a great easy hike with hills, beach and temple & a short ferry ride back from Sai Wan pier back through the harbor to Cheung Chau pier. Good places to eat and no cars on the island. I think my fondest memory of several visits to Hong Kong.
