Himeji and Akashi bridge

Hello..
Please help me ...
Is it possible to buy Kansai Area pass at Himeji station?
What is best way to reach the Akashi suspension bridge from Himeji side; walk on the bridge and finally going to Kobe. I am planning to buy a Kansai Area Pass, so I am not using JR line.
Thanks..

I have a JR-West Rail Pass brochure in front of me. Himeji is listed among the stations that is a sales location.

Thomasjob, the Kansai Area Pass is a JR offering, so you will be using JR lines (local train on the JR Sanyo main line to Himeji).

Sorry friends, I made a mistake..
It is a Kansai thru pass and not a Kansai Area pass. JR is not covered in this.
