Hilton or Marriott at Hua Hin

We are spending 5-7 days at Hua Hin in Feb/Mar. We would appreciate any first hand opinions/preferences on the Hilton or Marriott in Hua Hin. We are told they are both on the beach and near town. How are the beachs and the weather?
Thanks.

They are both right on the beach. The Hilton however is in the center of town and the beach is very narrow. The Marriott is a gentle 10 minute walk from town or just 3-4 minutes by tuk-tuk, little longer by rickshaw.
The beach at the Marriott is much much wider than at the Hilton.
The Hilton is a high rise 'block' whereas the Marriott is a low rise Thai style resort. I honestly think the Marriott is much nicer. The Hyatt Regency is a little out of town.

If you want to see pictures of both and details of facilities try this site as has lots of photos for both hotels. Click on the hotel list and then on Hilton or Marriott.

didn't read your whole thing...the beach is better at the marriott too...wider...the hotel is a 10 minute walk out of town (you miss nothing being out of town...readily accessible via tuk tuk for 50 baht)..the hilton is in the middle of town...terrible pool area

it is hot there just like bangkok...go prepared

good restaurant...15 minute ride south of the marriott...on the water is LA MER Restuarant...you won't be disappointed...great sea food --all thai

Bob has said it, the Hilton is in a very busy area. The good thing is that you have so many choices, Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, Sofitel, Dusit, Evason, very good choice.
