Hello Ben...

TexasSlim Feb 7th, 2006 06:07 PM

Hi Ben, what are you doing in The Big Mango? Been there long? I'm currently down under but return to BKK in April, and I'm really looking forward to that.

mrwunrfl Feb 7th, 2006 06:22 PM

Hi Ben!

Benkok Feb 7th, 2006 11:50 PM

Hi guys, thank you for the warm welcome... (-:

Well, i'm a "26 Years old Falang" living in Bangkok for the last 4 years...with my amazing Thai girlfriend… (-:
In the first 3 years i was working for a jewelry manufacturer and in last July i opened my own business - providing business solutions to wholesalers and companies around the world - mostly with the connection between them and their Thai suppliers.
Part of the services are sourcing for new suppliers (All kind of products), arrange the orders, follow-ups, QC, Packing and shipping...
It's a small business but hopefully will grow this year... (-:

In my spare time i like to go on the internet and help tourists to explore Thailand the best way...I know it's hard to plan a trip only with published information from people with business interest...so i'm offering my experience to help...

I also made thru the years some contacts with tourist guides (on a friendly basis) that I learned to be very good in what they do, so I recommend them to who ever asking (mostly friends and family)…never got a bad feedback…and I learn new things every day…

I’ll ask one of them to join us and share his knowledge and experience with you guys…

Well, that’s me…what about you?

(I'm sorry i'm using so many (-:...this is the only face i know how to do...is there anyone who can teach me some new faces??)

We're always glad to have new perspectives. As you can see since you've been reading our posts, many of us visit Bangkok regulary and we have a number of people living in Thailand who post here.

Do note that Fodors does not allow commercial posts, so if your friend who is a tour guide want sto offer information, he/she should do so without advertising their own services. Otherwise, the posts will be deleted by Fodors.

Guenmai Feb 8th, 2006 06:58 AM

Just curious...what part of the world are you originally from? Happy Travels!

Benkok Feb 8th, 2006 07:07 AM

Hi Kathie,

Thank you for pointing out the commercial issue. I don't think he will come here to "fish" customers...(unlike others that i had noticed doing it in their own smart ways...)

Guenmai - lets play a game...you have 3 guesses...hit me... :-d

orgy7 Feb 11th, 2006 12:59 AM

your Canadian. becouse every young guy I've met in town (bangkok) is a canook (sp).

oops the game is three questions.

1. uhh do you know who Maurice "the rocket" Richard?

2 if you drive for a couple of kilometers will you have passed by a couple of countries?.

3 do you know the terminology in cricket?

magical_routes Feb 11th, 2006 01:18 AM

Not sure about Ben's nationality (well, I do actually coz I know him...), but a sport buff as I am, I am familiar with the famous Canadiane's #9. Before my era but a legend indeed...
I also watch cricket so LBW, Wicket, Googly, Silly point, mid wicket and Don Bradman are all good friends...
your middle question puzzled me a bit, but he does come from a small place...

Benkok Feb 11th, 2006 04:38 AM

orgy...Canadian?? well...no...
as for your questions -
1.No
2.No
3.Hell No...

anybody else??

MaryW Feb 11th, 2006 04:12 PM

I'm guessing both Ben and Magical Routes are either XXXX or VB drinkers.

magical_routes Feb 11th, 2006 07:15 PM

I do, but its imported...

MaryW Feb 11th, 2006 07:54 PM

Maybe across the Tasman then?

Benkok Feb 11th, 2006 10:26 PM

Hi Mary...

No Tasman, No XXXX or VB...(i don't even know what it means...)

You are right in one thing...both me and Magical come from the same place (10-15 years later, but still the same small country...)

Let me help you -

It's a small country that makes a lot of noise around the world...
Some people like it, more people hate it, but no one can ignore it...

Most of the people around the world know it only from CNN or BBC...and like/dislike it according to the "facts" shown on TV

That's it...if i tell you more it will not be a fair game...

Hanuman Feb 11th, 2006 10:38 PM

You're an Isreali?

Benkok Feb 12th, 2006 12:53 AM

Bingo...

I was born in Israel for an Israeli father and Doutch mother...

mrwunrfl Feb 12th, 2006 12:54 AM

A small country, people only see it on TV?
Wyoming! You're from Wyoming.

kappa Feb 12th, 2006 12:56 AM

Afganistan ? Or one of the(ex-Soviet Union) republics with a name also ending with .. tan?

kappa Feb 12th, 2006 12:57 AM

Never mind. We got the answer.
