Help with Hong Kong hotels

We will have a Hong Kong layover in both directions on our way to Bangkok. One will only be 1 night but we will spend 3 nights on our way back home. I have checked out the Eaton Hotel, the BP International, Holiday-Inn Golden Mile and the Kowloon Hotel. I would like to keep the price around 100.00 to 150.00 do you have any comments on these hotels or suggestions. We have not been to Hong Kong so have no idea of the best area to stay - especially for the 3 night return stay. Thanks so much for the help. Marg

Kowloon Hotel have very very small rooms - I mean tiny, miniscule. I don't like BP International's location too much and that it's right next door to the coach terminal for coaches to China.

Eaton and Holiday Inn Golden Mile are both pretty good. The HI is in Tsimshatsui, which is more catered to tourists. Eaton just one MTR stop up Nathan Road, and the surrounding area is more "local", and is very close to the Temple Street night market. Can't go wrong with either, though as a 1st timer, you may like the HI Golden Mile more.

I, too would advise against the Kowloon Hotel. My husband likes to do sit ups in the morning (?!). The room was so small that he had to put the 1 chair in the room up on the bed so he could lay down and do sit ups!
You also can't lay out your luggage, which is something we like to do when we travel.
The hotel is in a great location, but I would look elsewhere.
I've only stayed at the Intercontinental otherwise, which is above what you're looking for, but be sure to have a drink here, the harbor view is breathtaking.

When are you going and what prices do you see for those hotels? There are plenty of choices in the Tsimshatsui area, including the YMCA Salisbury. Or try bid 5* TST on Priceline for about $115-120. You'll get the Sheraton.

We will be there for one night next Feb. on the way to Bangkok and 3 nights on the way home in March. Hadn't thought about Priceline- am not experienced with it at all are there specifics that I should put in my bid. Is it something that I should look into now or do I have lots of time. I know for my Bangkok reservations time is not an issue as I am heading into the summer HOT season and there will lots of availability but I don't know if I have lots of time to book for the less expensive rooms in Hong Kong.

I recently initiated a thread on this which I will top for you. Bottom line from me: I would stay in Kowloon and pay for a room with a view!

I recommend the Salisbury YMCA, with a harbour view..We stayed there last year and couldn't have been happier..Large room, immaculate, great view, great location...I think we paid around 150.00 U.S. in November...
