Help with Beijing hotel please
 

My son is returning home to the UK next month from teaching in China and needs to spend a night at the Beijing airport.
Does anyone know the nearest hotel to the airport or is there a hotel located in the airport itself.

If your son has a reasonable amount of layover time he could stay in the city, where (I'm pretty sure) there'd be cheaper alternatives available - it's a 30-45 minute drive and our cabs cost 60 & 90 yuan (£4.15 & £6.20) respectively.

My son has spent time in Beijing already and finds it very expensive compared to where he is based (Yantai)so he is just taking an internal flight from there and then onto the UK the next morning.

carlyspall, I know what he means - my two daughters are teaching in Liaoning province, and Beijing prices come as a shock to them. I guess it will only get worse as the Olympics approach.

Yip -these Olympics have a lot to answer for!
Just look at Athens - they tarted the place up a bit and then accomodation and restaurant prices soared up.....
