Help with air to Angkor Wat

I am trying to book flights from Bangkok to Siam Reap at the beginning of January. I can't get a flight back to BKK on Bangkok Airways - they are all full for days. Are there any other options or have I waited too long?

Bangkok Airways is the only operator. January is absolute peak time. I guess your only option would be via Phnom Penh or using Vietnam Airlines via Ho Chi Minh City.

I was panicing four weeks ago trying to make reservations on Bangkok Air for our bkk-siem reap-bkk-luang prabang trip next week. I booked flights through Phnom Penh. Then I got a call from the Bangkok Air NYC office(which also books Lithuanian Air flights) saying the bkk-lpq flight was canceled. By the time i was done, I had better flights on better days and eliminated the overnight in Phnom Penh. Go figure. Bangkok air released seats or decided to use a bigger jets. BTW, the 800 number gets you a call center in Delhi.

the 800 # during daytime puts you direct to nyc unless something has changed recently

If all else fails, and you really can't get that return flight - don't let it stop you going. Angor Wat is amazing and it really isn't hard to return to BKK by road - you know, bus, or shared taxi!!

Try to get onto the wait list for your desired flight or better stil try to get a Bkk based agent to book for you...loads of travel agents in Bkk buy seats hoping to resell and these come into the system later...would not be at all surprised if the number connected to a Delhi call center

Bangkok Airways lists costs @ over $300 USD/person r/t for April 2005. Is that what others are finding? I'm having difficulty locating any discount fares. How reliable is this carrier? We want to return from Siem Reap in the morning and fly on to Singapore in the afternoon with about 3 - 4 hours in between. Please share your th oughts if you have done this. thank you.

Bangkok Air is an excellent airline and is very reliable (unlike some small airlines in SE Asia). Unfortunately, they have a monopoly on non-stop flights between Bangkok and SIem Reap, so the costs are high. You shouldn't have a pronlem with 3-4 hours between flights.

However, Silk Air flies between Siem Reap and Singapore, though not every day of the week. Some days they have a short stop in PP on the way, but it is a direct flight (even when it isn't non-stop). You might price that option as well. I would guess it would be less expensive than buying Siem Reap to Bangkok and Bangkok to Singapore.
