Next month, we are heading Beijing for a month-long business trip, can anyone here kindly recommend me some cheap but clean and comfortable hostels. And also, we would like to rent some cell phones, any suggestion?

Try Jin'jiang'zhi'xing hostel, which has several branchs in beijing,and price is relatively low while clean and comfortale enough! Hotline number is 8621-38764588.
As for phone rental, I once saw a similiar question on this forum before, and was recommended www.tourfone.com. You can have a try.
