Help! Need Puta's email address in Bali

Hi,
I've read many of your trip reports extolling Puta's virtues as a guide, but I can't find an email address for him. A search for him yields nothing.

BTW, about what does he charge for a days' guiding/driving? Anything that you did with him that you didn't enjoy?.....and what was the highlight?

One more question, I want him to pick us up from our hotel in Seminyak and drive us to our hotel in Ubud...and would like to sightsee a little on the way. Thought the temple at Uluwatu would be good stop...anything else that's sort of on the way?

Also, we'll be in Ubud for 6 nights....5 days....I'm thinking of using him for 2 days of excursions. Does that sound like enough touring?

I'm assuming that you want Putu's E-mail which is:

[email protected]

He is one of the best guides that we have ever had anywhere. We're going to see him again on our May return to Bali.

Thanks Gpanda! I want to be sure to try to book him before he's taken. If you could provide some detail about what you enjoyed seeing the most with him, I'd appreciate it.

It depends on how many days you will be spending with him and where you're staying. I will say that a visit to his family compound was wonderful. It's a little outside of Ubud.

the distance from one hotel to another is not all that far, but he would fit a number of things into the day and move you from hotel to hotel... he has done that for us..

a full day last time i checked was about 400,000, or $45 US.
we always give him a good tip too.

Ulu Watu is in the opposite direction. Doable but a lot of driving. Maybe you're thinking of Tanah Lot?

barefootbeach Feb 19th, 2010 05:25 PM

marmot, that's OK if it's in the opposite direction because we'll have time and this is my best chance to see this side of the island. From what I've read, Ulu Watu is a better experience than Tanah Lot, so we'll skip that one....agree?

rhkkmk Feb 19th, 2010 05:34 PM

i would visit both... they are each unique

Could Puta have a different email address than the one Gpanda provided? I haven't heard from him in 3 days, but maybe it just takes awhile to get a response.
