[Help] Honeymoon Itinerary for 9 nights (starting 4th March)

Hi,

We have just got married and our going for our Honeymoon to Bali on the 3rd of March. We have done some brief research and have come up with the following itinerary:

Days 1-3 (4th to 6th March): Ubud

Days 4 and 5 (7th to 8th March): Nusa Penida

Days 6 and 7 (9th to 10th March): Nusa Dua or Ulawatu

Days 8 and 9 (11th to 12th March / Saturday and Sunday): Seminyak

Day 10 (13th March): Departure to Airport

Let me know if you think it would make more sense to spend one day less in Nusa Dua or Uluwatu and give more time to either Seminyak or any of the other places. Basically, on day 6 or 7, we are looking to do a staycation at a great property/resort.

Please let us know if this itinerary seems feasible, given that we are travelling in early March, when the rainy season would still not have gone away. Any suggestions would be much appreciated as we haven't really spent as much time researching as we'd have liked to.

Thank you in advance :)

Feasible? Yes. Advisable? No. Every time you change location you will lose half a day of your usable time. I would just pick one destination at the beach and Ubud and you will have way more time to enjoy your honeymoon.

perhaps more important than the destination is the hotel itself. perhaps a villa near or in Ubud?

Many congratulations on your marriage!

Thank you so much :)

Just sharing a few more details:

We want to spend more time in the beachy areas vs Ubud. Our intention is to chill on the beaches, swim in calm waters (we aren't proficient swimmers), relax in bars and restaurants and do some sightseeing (not really interested in temples, but beaches, waterfalls). Also wanted to check if we should look at doing snorkeling (we aren't proficient swimmers)?

If we were to cut down on one place, what should that be? Should we cut out on the stay at Nusa Penida or Nusa Dua/Ulawutu and cover these areas as day-trips instead? We have chosen the date of the staycation as it is also our relationship anniversary (10th March) so we'd want to spend that day at a good property. Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

You are very welcome. Not especially a beach fan we would usually head to the north of Bali for diving. Of the beaches in the south, Nusa Dua is generally regarded as the best beach on the island. Calm waters for swimming. It is a bit of an upmarket tourist enclave with some very nice, high end hotels but not much of "the real Bali"

This blog is quite decent analysis of Bali beaches. https://www.goatsontheroad.com/best-beaches-in-bali/ Which may be of some help. If by "good property" you mean a nice hotel, then I would use booking.com to set your parameters for price and facilities for your beach hotel and take it from there. Around Ubud, I would seriously consider a villa if you want to push the boat out. It is the rainy season in Bali in March so you must expect some heavy rain showers, usually in the afternoon. temps and humidity will be intense ( though you may be used to that) , I would say a pool is a must.

Thank you for patiently answering our queries. We truly appreciate it :)

I guess we can do the first 3 nights in Ubud (including the first night with less travel) as we would want to give more time to beachy areas, and wouldn't be too keen to visit temples etc.

We want to do Nusa Penida (even if we can't swim) as the trek and the views seem lovely, so we definitely want to experience that and Nusa Penida I guess has good beachfront Airbnbs (which probably wouldn't be available in other parts), so we definitely want to stay there for a day at least. Would you guys recommend staying there for 1 day or 2 days?

So then our first 3 days (4th to 7th March) would be in Ubud and 7th to 8th March would be in Nusa Penida.

For the remaining days, what would be a better place to stay - Seminyak or Sanur or Nusa Dua? We would want to stay in good properties (Marriott and such) and also plan day trips to the likes of Uluwatu, Canngu, the beaches of Nusa Dua etc. Given that you suggest we shouldn't stay in more than 2/3 places in the entire trip, we would want to book our accommodation in one of these places itself and do day-trips to others. Please suggest
