Help for First Timer in November
I have been dreaming of going to India for decades. Now I need help firming up my itinerary. I will be arriving in and departing from Delhi and need to know if 2 nights is enough upon arrival. Then on to the following cities (need help with order please): Jaipur; Ranthambhore; Udaipur; Agra. We have two weeks and would like to stay a minimum of 2 nights in each place (unless advised otherwise). Also if I am leaving someplace extraordinary out I need to know. The one thing you are leaving out that is extraordinary is Varanasi.
Are you using a local agency to set this up? I recommend the use of a local agency for India trips - they can take care of all the logistics. And since they get discounts on hotels, you may end up paying less than if you booked everything yourself.

Yes, Varanasi is an experience, should be made part of your trip itinerary.
Further, a rural destination in Rajasthan or central India is a must for any balanced tour itinerary. It breaks the repetitive content of sightseeing. Moreover, the brilliant colours in rural India are very pleasing to the eye.
In a short holiday, Ranthambhore can be jettisoned, though you have some fine hotels to stay and wildlife always breaks the monotony of the tour.

Having just returned from two weeks in India - and recovering - I would suggest your time there is too short. It takes over 24 hours of hard travel time each way, so please factor that into your planning.
If this is your dream trip, then make it memorable by making it enjoyable, not a death march.

You can be in India for weeks and still not see all that there is to see. Its so culturally diverse.I loved going to Kerala and Hampi when I was there. Although when you are in Delhi I hope that you get a chance to see go around the city and see the amazing architecture (If you like doing outdoorsy stuff, you can take a bike tour around the city as well. )

Forget the bike tour unless you want to kill yourself. I agree with the other posters. Varanasi is a must.
Also, between Jaipur and Varanasi, be sure to stop and the monkey temple and the stepping wells...both very interesting.

November is the best time to visit India as weather will be pleasant and you will be able to visit all the attractions
As you are coming in November so I would recommend you to be a part of Pushkar Fair as this fair will be held on November 18th-25th. You must visit this fair to experience the real and varied colors or India. This fair is quite popular among international as well as domestic travelers..
Apart from this fair, the cities that you mentioned should be in this order:

having just returned from a trip in February, without any hesitation I would recommend swapping Varanasi for Rathambore (unless you're planning to stay at the Oberoi, then I would suggest cutting Jaipur or Udaipur). If you can add 2 or 3 more days, that would be much better.

hey it's not so much where you go as what you do--for example, Jaisalmer is nice, but a desert camel safari is spectacular. Varanasi is great, but a local yoga class held in a temple is surreal. I think you can't go wrong with most of the cities you mention. But you'll have to do some legwork to make sure you're planning some experiences / activities within those places in order to make it incredible. There are a ton of websites that can help with concierge-type travel now...I assume you know the main ones in India, but hit me up if you want help.
