Hearning Aids in Bangkok?

I haven't seen any threads on this. Does anyone have experience purchasing digital hearing aids in BKK? Info on time frame needed, cost ,etc., would be appreciated.

My, that reply was useful, wasn't it?

I live in Bangkok, and can't recall seeing hearing aids on sale anywhere, but then I haven't been looking. I haven't noticed any Thais who have them either. I suspect they are available, but I wouldn't expect them to be any cheaper in Thailand. In my experience, medical equipment is more experience in Thailand than elsewhere. The government controls that keep medicine prices down don't apply to hardware.

From Google.th here's an interesting web site with prices: http://www.thaiwaysmagazine.com/bang...e/eartone.html

According to their advertisement they are around 50% cheaper than abroad(don't know what country they are referring to).

Thanks, that is a very useful website and gives me a basis for comparison.

From expierence with my mothers digital ha's they need frquent fine tuning and adjustments. This requires a special computer to do. Unless you have a dealer at home who would service the brand you buy I would not think it is a great idea , even if you save a few bucks...They could become a very expensive souvenir.
