Have you booked with Hotelclub.com?

This site offers a decent rate at a place I want to stay at, better than the hotel's own "Internet SPecial" rate in India.

Has anybody used it? It comes out on top of a Google search for the hotel name, which encourages me to think it's a going operation.

Hi Elizabeth.

I have used this company many times.

They are fine and usually have a good rate. I found them very good for mainland European bookings and OK for Asia.

Double check through venere.com and tripadvisor.com if you are nervous.

Hope it works out well.

I used them for a couple of hotels in Italy and had no problems whatsoever.

i just looked at my favorite hotel in bangkok and the rate they quoted me for 4 nites is the rate i paid earlier today for 5 nites including breakfast....

not so great

No, that isn't great - but in the case of the place I'm looking at, their rate is better than the hotel's rate.

I would guess it's like all these things, no one site is ever best, if you want to get the best price it's usually worth it to hunt a bit.

But I am glad to know nobody has a horror story!!

almost all of these sites have rates way less than the hotel itself

I have used them for Australia for where they are good and have a large choice, but that is where they are based so not surprising. They arew a large operation but you always need to shop around for rates and make sure you compare like with like. One good thing is their instant confirmation where shown, confirmation is instant so no waiting to see if it's available or not which is good.

Position on a search has nothing to do with whether they are good or not, reliabel or not or whatever, positions on seach places apparently are based on things like how many links there are to the website, also where the website is hosted/based. Number of times words are used as % of words on a page etc etc, it is all computerised. How many pages are on the site and multiple other factors, but certainbly nothing to do whether they are 'good' or not.

rhkkmk- who did you book through for your upcoming trip? I looked at Agoda and huahin which were about the same, and got a better rate from BillT's relative Bunnie. Haven't booked it yet, though.

rhkkmk Jan 12th, 2008 05:32 PM

i booked one set through agoda and the other set through bunnie....bunnie is $154, agoda is $169...both for the exact same room...these are for may/june...

rhkkmk- the Jr. suite is $218 with Bunnie for the 1st week in July. Agoda and Huahin are $234. Is the suite worth the extra $50 for the space-we have the 2 kids, 1 sharing a bed, and 1 with complimentary cot?
