Mr girlfriend is Vietnamese and she and I have an apartment in Ho Chi Minh City. I also have a partner in HCMC. Both have said everything is quiet and normal. There is nothing to worry about in VN except for pickpockets, of course. I'm headed back there on Wednesday 10/17 myself for two months. If you're in HCMC, try the Pho Hoa restaurant on Pasteur Street for the best pho in VN and some excellent atmosphere, all for less than $5 per person including your drink.

..returned 1 week ago after 5 week trip North and South. You have no problems over there I can assure you. I am from UK but was with 3 from US - we all felt more relaxed than in our home countries! Fantastic people, food, culture. Enjoy.<BR>My next trip on 15 December to Java - now that's got me thinking!!
