harmonique--bangkok
the restaurant will close for the holidays from december 10 to jan 5, 2007...
we ate there a couple of days ago and it was fantastic as usual.... they are doing some redecoration in some parts and cleaning up the place a bit... the old man is not in evidence so he may have died??? |
just out of curiousity, where's this restaurant at?
|
Thanks for that information, but I am disappointed to hear it!
We had that onn our list for our trip next month! |
It's on a small side street behind OP Place (right near the Oriental Hotel).

Hopefully they will not be late in opening as I will be in Bangkok just after that and was hoping to try that place...

pebbles-they close every year and open on time. Do make sure you get there. They have an air-conditioned room, but we found it has nowhere near the charm of the other rooms. Try the Crab with yellow curry... It's super.

For those who haven't been there before, I feel the need to add some caveats. The food is Thai-Chinese, not purely Thai. The service is strange at best, frustrating at worst. If you sit inside, they can ignore you for what seems like hours. You may well have to hunt them down to get your check, sometimes it takes forever for the food to come. It's not a fine dining expereince. It is cheap, the food is good, though not extrordinary.
I discovered when talking with Bob in Bangkok that he had naver had their steamed bread. I always thought that was the reason to go there! They make fresh steamed bread, a good alternative to rice with your meal. |
