Hanoi Hotels
Am planning a few days in Hanoi in January and am looking for a centrally located hotel. Has anyone stayed in the Hotel Holidays in Quoc Tu Giam? Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks

I stayed at the deSyloia and liked it a lot. The staff were very helpful. I walked many places, but taxis are cheap and readily available as well.
|
Thanks Kathie, I'll look into your suggestion

We love the Salute Hotel. check out www.vietnamstay.com for rates. It's a lovely little boutique hotel right in the heart of the Old City. Quiet too!
|
Another suggestion for deSyloia. I liked it for the same reason Kathis liked it. Once when a cab driver tried to charge me too much the guy at the de Syloia came out and handled the problem. A nice small restuarant in the de Syloia.

maryanne, the staff were really helpful for things like that. They sent away a taxi once because the driver insisted the meter was broken.
|
Thanks folks. I appreciate your suggestions.

Hotel Holidays in Quoc Tu Giam is far from center.
De syloi is nice hotel in li thuong kiet street, you have to take a taxi if you want to go to center. should stay in Dan Chu hotel - next to trang tien plaza |
We loved staying at The Galaxy Hotel. It adjoins the old quarter. Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, room was immaculate, and the "show" from our room was spectacular because we looked down on a busy intersection with 24-hours-a-day bicycle-moto-and foot traffic.

GONSEE, my concern was from the map that the Hotel Holidays was a bit far out and you have confirmed that notion. Thank you.
USNR the Galaxy is another that I had looked at so thanks for your recommendation. |
