Hanoi Hotel Help

Any recommendations on a website to get the cheapest booking for the Sofitel Metropole?

Also, can anyone recommend a more moderately priced alternative to the Metropole for the latter part of my time in Hanoi, when I will be alone?

Thanks!

We enjoyed the DeSyloia. Good location, great staff.

For booking the Metropol you might want to take a look at www.asiarooms.com I don't know whether www.vietnamstay.com could book it for you or not, but it's worth checking as well as looking at the Sofitel website.

I usually find that the websites of the major hotel chains offer the best rates.(sometimes with a best rate guarantee!). I just checked out the price for 25 oct - www.sofitel.com 219USD ++ asiarooms - 285USD inc taxes etc. If you assume taxes of say 20% the sofitel site works out cheaper. having said this we did not have a great experience at the Metropole when we stayed last year.

If you're going to stay at the Metropole you should get the deluxe historic wing rooms - that'll add around another US$100 a day [going on the hotel site specials].

Like crellston, I was not overly impressed with the place [for the $$ they charge] - but it's a great location. My deluxe king suite historic wing was distinctly ordinary.

I'd run a check on trip-advisor if I were you - the cheap rooms ain't great.

Any suggestions on alternatives?

I loved the Hanoi hilton. Affordable, fantastic breakfast buffet, lovely room and good evening entertainment in their lounge. I also like the location where the hotel is, very close to everything.

This is what I can: 280USD for double classic room (assume that you travel next year). This year price can be cheaper, but this hotel have difference price everyday depend on date and how busy it is. So let me know when you want to go, maybe I can help by asking them directly.

Ah, Zephyr - with location and services at 4* standard would be Ok, with reasonable price (around 80USD for deluxe room).
- Melia : 5* , price around 110USD for deluxe room, 145USD for deluxe room at royal service floor..
- Hilton: actually it's about 200USD up, but if you found a co-operate price, it can be just about 130USD.
