Hanoi Hotel

Would anyone be able to recommend a good hotel in Hanoi. I am not looking for super luxury but would still like something fairly comfortable and central.
I have heard and read horror stories of bad hotels in Hanoi.

Thank you,

Paul

I have booked Elegance 2 for $55 a night. Am traveling on my own and since I usually spend vey little time in my room this seems just fine. It has gotten very good reviews on Trip Advisor and they have been very responsive.

On Kathie's recommendation, we stayed at the Desyloia. It was very comfortable and in a good location. Somewhere in the $120 price range I think.

I have also stayed at a couple of guest houses in the Old Quarter and although the decor was "interesting" and no elevator, they make you happy at $20-30 per night. If you're interested in going that direction, you may want to have a look at Trip Advisor and see what is getting good marks. Also check asiarooms.com

And yes, there are some bad ones, so choose well if you go that route.

Please accept my apologies. I misread your question and I thought you wanted super luxury!

I am staying at Elegance 3 for $55
Elegance 2 you can have for $30 a night.
Don't know the difference. Just know that the reviews have been glowing.
