Hanoi and ....
We are landing to Hanoi and spending 3 days there, one of which will be in Halong Bay. Then we want a beach destination for another 4 nights, to relax, snorkel, dive and have some fun. Is Nha Trang the best solution? or far too touristy? We will fly from Hanoi, so distance is not an issue.
thanks! |
suggest you consider hanoi for at least one additional day...
not sure about those beach activities |
I concur that you should consider an extra night in Hanoi. We live in Florida and have beaches practically in our back yard, so when we travel, we rarely do beach areas. Can't help you on that one.

Would help to know when you are going? Certain times of the year are good for Nha Trang, others are not.

Some good diving in NT. Jeremy Steins 3ainbow divers is good. 9heck out the weather though for the time you are there (april was good). It is 6 years since we were there So can't comment on how touristy it is now - it was ok then.

Have you checked out Ninh Van Bay? We're in Hoi An now and just saw an article in English Viet Nam news on that area that made it sound appealing. It is a 20 minute boat ride from NT. We have had perfect weather in Hoi An for the last 4 days! In fact we went to a local beach yesterday and swam in hotel pool as well. Others will have better info on Nha Trang weather.

Nha Trang is worth seeing. If you are flight into Nha Trang then dont worry about the distance. Have a nice trip.

Nha Trang is nice, but touristy. Also check out Phu Quoc for great beaches and a more out-of-the-way place.
