Halong Bay logistics

Planning to expend few days in Hoi An and Hue before heading to Hanoi and Halong Bay before heading to Hong Kong. What's best , to fly to Hanoi and leave your heavier luggage in the hotel and do the cruise, comeback enjoy Hanoi before heading to HK or is better to fly to Cat Bi, do the cruise and head to Hanoi. Thank you

How many nights are you staying on Halong Bag?

I would fly to Hanoi, leave your bags with your Hanoi hotel, take a 2 night cruise, return to Hanoi for a night before flying to HK. These days it is only a couple of hours drive between Ha Long and Hanoi. Find a cruise which takes you to Bai Tu Long bay rathe than Ha Long.

Bai Long, the northernest bay, requires 3 days. If you have only 2 days, DO NOT cruise on Halong Bay, too many big boats, Cruise on LAN HA BAY starting from Cat Ba Island (bus Hanoi-Hai Phong + speed boat HP-Cat Ba). For detailed information, open ror example
