Hakone - Hotel Senkei (help needed)
 

Hi

Has anyone stayed at the above hotel/ryokan? If so, could you share your experience?

I am in the midst of trying to find out the price and availability for a mid October date but funnily, its English reservation page only has open dates up till 30 Sept.

I'm not sure whether this simply means that October reservations are not open yet (but surely people book 1.5 months in advance?) or if they're fully booked or they'd be closed.

Could someone who could read Japanese pop into their main webpage and tell me if there's any news or announcement regarding their status in October?

In Japanese, you can go to October 2006 calendar but the booking is not open. I can't find any way to book from October. Consdering it's less than 2 months away, that's incredible. Bad sign? I don't think so but what you can do is write your request direct to them by e-mail.

And I cannot find any mention of why you cannot book further than October.

For fun, I tried a Japanese hotel booking site which lists Senkei. There too, booking is not open from October and I see no announcement. If you send an e-mail and get no reply, perhaps, youi should move on and try to find other hotel.

I've got my email reply. It says:

"When it becomes September it is possible the reservation in October.
Please wait a little more."

In any case, I'd still love to hear from those who's stayed there before. Thanks.
