Guilin- great travel destination?
Pls. tell me everything you know about travel to Guilin.
Also, how would the weather be in mid to late April or mid-May? |
I was there quite some time ago in July 1988. I think April or May would be much more pleasant than the extreme heat of mid-summer, but don't know about rain. I found Guilin to be a charming town. It was where we departed for the Li River cruise, a highlight of my China trip.

houdi, this forum is best for specific questions that can be answered in a few paragraphs - "everything you know about travel to Guilin" is a big ask!
You could however try running a search on this page (see box above) -'Guilin' or perhaps 'Yangshuo'. That will unearth any information posted in previous threads. |
neil---why do you keep "correcting" people who are asking for help?????????????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????????????????

rhkkmk, the search facility is often overlooked by new posters. To draw attention to it is, I would have thought, helpful. As is a gentle reminder that reasonably specific questions are more likely to get useful responses. Perhaps this point was not as well phrased as it could have been. Other than that I see no need to defend my contributions to this and other forums.
BTW, you need to do something about that sticky "?" key. |
In my opinion, Guilin is not particularly a great travel destination. One can see the caves easily in a day, go on the Li River tour in a day as well as browse thru the markets in Yang Shuo. Although I have good friends in Guilin, I would prefer to spend more time in other cities/areas of China.
