Guided tour in Vietnam and Canbodia
We are a family of 4 (2+2). We want to visit Vietnam and Cambodia this October for about two weeks. We are looking for a way to have someone who will arrange all the deatiles, will take care of the transportation and internal flights and will provide a guide. Has anyone ever heard of such a possibily? If you can recomand me of an agency that can provide me with a troublefree trip - It would be great.
Thank you all.
Erez.

I have used Brenda Abramson from House of Travel several times in the past. You can email her at [email protected]
She can put together an itinerary and flights and private guides and drivers for you and I've always found her prices to be very reasonable. She has travelled Asia extensively and knows her stuff. She's based in Lodi California but it doesn't matter where you are, I live in NYC. She is quick to respond to emails. A word of caution: You will be put on her mailing list if you contact her but she only sends emails every few weeks or so and it's when she has trips to offer--many of which are great bargains. If you don't want to be on her list, just tell her. If you want, tell her Laurie Cohen in NY told you about her, we go back quite a few years.

I used the company General Tours last November for a trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand. Some of their trips are group tours, but they do have trips that are privately guided where all the details are arranged and it is just your party and the guide. Their website is www.generaltours.com. I have used them twice and was happy with their services. I presently have a privately guided trip to India planned with them.

You can break up the trip into Vietnam and Cambodia and look at it separately. For Cambodia Ponheary is often recoed on this forum. I used a guide twice who I was VERY happy with - Chhor Elit. You can mail him on [email protected]. He will organize the car and driver for your Siem Reap trip as well as provide you with guide services. IN Vietnam you can look at Exotissimo. www.exotissimo.com. I only used them for some Hanoi arrangements but they have been highly recoed to me by some friends. I know this may not meet your door to door arrangements objective but thought I'd suggest it anyway.

I have been to Vietnam twice and once to Cambodia and used this couple"s services for both trips. Their website is
[email protected]
They are so helpful. For a first trip to Vietnam I would definitely suggest someone to take care of the details for you. You will enjoy it much more and learn much more about these countries than trying to do it yourself.

Two very reliable travel companies that have a wide range of SE Asia holidays are Intrepid Travel, and Peregrine Travel. Both are Australian-based, but attract travellers from all over the world. Bookings can be made on-line.
Their websites are www.intrepidtravel.com and peregrineadventures.com
Intrepid is cheaper, and offers a very wide range of Vietnam/Indo China trips (some specifically designed for families) and while Peregrine uses a higher grade acommodation.
I know people who have used both, and all have had nothing but praise for their holidays.
Peregrine also has a budget brand called Gecko, which can be located (look carefully) at the Peregrine site.
