Guide in Bangkok
 

Any ideas for a local guide in Bangkok? I've searched under that very title, but get all these messages that I just can't read thru cause I can't find bangkok guide in the text. Nevertheless, i've started a new request. Thanks
I've been talking to some lady in bangkok, but obviously we will be having problems. I've asked about May and she's talking about a trip in June! Don't have patience for all the misunderstandings, not a good sign.

You're right, if you don't have patience for misunderstandings it is a bad sign. To travel well, you need patience and understanding.

First, decide if you want a guide (or if you want a driver) and how you'd like to utilize a guide. A guide is certainly not necessary for Bangkok, though some people feel it enhances their experience.

There are many guides in Bangkok that are well recommended here. Some of the names to search for here are Ratt, Tong, and Cherry.

I wasin BKK last january and used two guides.
The first one was Tong, and we hired her to visit Saduak floating market and Kanchanaburi. She is a licensed guide with excellent english, very patience and with great sense of humor.
She is perfect to visit places you want to know deep about history and culture. She has a new car and treats you as a king.
Another guide was Nok ,she is not licensed .I hired her just to walk with me in BKK using local transports such as BTS, TukTuks, taxi, boat and to avoid wasting time and money. She saved a lot of our money because she never let us be tricked and this made our trip more confortable.She has excellent english and very honest. I leaved my luggages with her while we went to Bali and she charged us only 500bht a day.
