Guide for BKK, please

For our travel to Bkk in August we need a private guide. I have been reading a lot of posts here and seen the names Ratt and Tong many times but haven't seen any website address or any email.
Please help me find a guide.
Thank you.

Tong is great. We have been to BKK many times, yet she was able to plan a day that was original and exciting. She can be reached at [email protected].

If you want a guide, Tong does get rave reviews. Ratt is not a guide, but a driver. Decide whether you need a driver or a guide and for how much time. Note that you don't really need a guide or a driver in Bangkok. Bangkok is easy to navigate on your own, with excellent public transport.

I have used Ratt several times and she is excellent. She is not a guide but she tells you more than you need to know about everyplace we went. She's also a lot of fun. Her email is [[email protected]]. As for whether you need a guide or not -- I agree that it isn't necessary. However, I absolutely believe that a driver is a big plus. Yes there is good public transportation and I take public transportation all the time at home (don't even own a car) BUT the heat and humidity of Bangkok can really get to you. I find I have far more energy and do much more when I don't have to expend energy getting there -- the airconditioned car waiting for me enables me to deal with the heat only when I am sightseeing -- not when I am getting from point a to b. Plus coversation withthe driver (Ratt in Bangkok and Poon in Chiang Mai) give me insights into thai culture and government and life.

I to am a fan of Ratt having used her 3 times in 8 years for a total of 8 days. She knows all I needed to know and in the 3 places I needed a guide he hooked me up with excellent guides like at the Grand Palance and all it cost was was maybe $8 for 2 persons for the few places but we got outstanding guides for the 60-90 minutes at the few places. Ratt's rates I believe are slightly less than Tomg's so the few dollars for the guides added to ratt's rate I believe come out to equal or less than Tong for a 10 hour day and she does not count an extra 15 minutes her or there.

My husband and I are using Tong in a week - so far, communication and planning have been wonderful with her.

Can someone let me know what is the rate for Tong and Ratt? Is it per hour? We are going mid Oct. Is it too late to book?

Thanks,

Gwen

Tong charges 3000 Baht per day. It is late to book, but give it a try. She may have someone else available if she is not.
